Unified VCA Presents Awards

Afton, Va. – The Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association (UVCA) announces the winners of its annual awards presented on October 13 & 14 during its 2023 Fall Convention. The awards recognize chiropractors across the Commonwealth for exceptional service, leadership, and achievements within the profession.  

Phil Golinsky Chiro of the Yr

Dr. Phil Golinsky, RxWellness Spine & Health, Herndon, a nearly 20-year member of the UVCA, received the prestigious Chiropractor of the Year Award for his outstanding efforts in galvanizing strong support and funds for the Virginia Chiropractic Political Action Committee (CPAC). Through strategizing, personal outreach and impassioned speeches, Dr. Golinsky significantly broadened the donor base and mentored a stellar fundraising team for CPAC, which is vital to support for the chiropractic profession in Virginia. 

Dr Paul Cronk - Stoke Chiropractic

Dr. Joseph Foley presented a special Century of Service Award to Dr. Paul Cronk, Stoke Chiropractic Clinic, Roanoke, whose family has been continuously providing chiropractic care in the Roanoke region for more than 100 years. Dr. Foley shared that when the Stokes family first opened their practice on May 3, 1920, chiropractic care was illegal to practice in the state. Dr. Cronk has been a UVCA member for nearly 50 years.

Dr. Michelle Rose, UVCA President, presented a special Impact Award to Dr. Thomas Wetzen, Family & Sports Chiropractic, Vienna, in recognition of the unprecedented impact he has had on the profession on a local, state, and national level. In addition to his current position as President of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations (ChiroCongress), Dr. Wetzen helps lead the Future of Chiropractic Strategic Plan. His many past roles have included Clinical Compass Liaison and President of the UVCA, and he is a past UVCA Chiropractor of the Year award recipient.

District Director of the Year went to Dr. Eric Carlsen, Family Chiropractic Center of Richmond, a two-time recipient of the award, for his continued passion and dedication to bring doctors in his region together, understand and accurately represent their needs and priorities, and lead by example in setting the bar high.

Dr. Chris Perron, Perron Chiropractic, Reston, received the John Stoke Award, named for the founder of the 100-year-old Stoke Chiropractic Clinic in Roanoke, which recognizes a doctor who has published a piece for lay consumption in digital or print media, for his book: The Simple Plan – 7 Habits for Healthy Living. 

Dr Bob Egan

Dr. Robert Egan, Egan Family Chiropractic, Hampton, received the Literary Award, which recognizes a Doctor of Chiropractic who has published a paper in a scientific journal. Dr. Egan’s paper, “Resolution of Enuresis in a 10-yr-old Male Following Subluxation-Based Chiropractic Care: A Case Study,” was published in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal and Family Health Chiropractic, Volume 2022.
