The Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association Members Elect New Officers
Afton, VA – Dr. Jeff Bowers, Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association (Unified VCA or UVCA) nominating committee chair, conducted officer elections at the General Membership Meeting in Virginia Beach on Saturday, October 9th. The elections were held in conjunction with the Fall Convention at The Sheraton Oceanfront Virginia Beach.
The following doctors were unanimously elected.
Dr. Michelle Rose -- President
Dr. Rose is the first woman to be elected UVCA President. Born and raised in New York, Dr. Rose attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduated in 1998 from Palmer College of Chiropractic, and has been practicing at her clinic, Green Run Chiropractic, in Virginia Beach ever since. Dr. Rose has always been active in the chiropractic community. She was previously Vice President of the UVCA, leads its Strategic Plan, is a co-chair of the Editorial Committee, and serves on the Education Committee. She is a past president of the Hampton Roads Chiropractic Association and a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She was recognized as one of the Most Influential Chiropractors Age 40 and under by Today's Chiropractic Lifestyle magazine. In September of 2018 she was awarded UVCA Chiropractor of the Year.
Dr. Robert Pinto -- Vice President
Dr. Pinto is the co-creator of Pinto Chiropractic & Rehabilitation in Williamsburg. He has trained with world renowned authorities in physical rehabilitation techniques and is Certified Level II by the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and served as the chiropractic consultant to the College of William & Mary Department of Sports Medicine for 25 years. He is certified in Extremity Adjustment by the Chiropractic Council of Extremity Adjusting. Dr. Pinto has been serving the Williamsburg community for over 30 years. He previously served as the UVCA’s director of district 5 and represented the UVCA at Workers Compensation Research Institute events.
Dr. Taylor Myers -- Treasurer
Dr. Myers graduated from the University of Virginia in 2013 and earned his Masters in Kinesiology in 2014. While at UVA he was a member of the 2011 ACC Championship, 2011 College World Series, and 2014 National Runner-Up College World Series Virginia Baseball teams. He then went on to Sherman College of Chiropractic, where he served as President of the Athletic Club as well as the President and Founder of the Sherman College Sports Chiropractic Club. He was a Patient Education Specialty Intern in the Health Center as well as becoming certified in both, Extremity Adjusting and X-Ray. Dr. Myers is certified in extremity adjusting as well as a member of the Sherman College R.O.A.R. Program, Professional Baseball Chiropractic Society, and Professional Hockey Chiropractic Society. He owns and manages East Coast Elite Chiropractic-Sports Performance & Rehab in Blackstone, Virginia.
Dr. Carly Swift – Secretary
Dr. Swift completed a bachelor’s degree at James Madison University in Health Sciences and received her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University. She has a certification in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She started participating in UVCA strategic planning meetings her very first year of practice and is currently Chair of the UVCA’s Public Relations Committee. She is also affiliated with the International Pediatric Association, American Pediatric Association, and Holistic Pediatric Association. She owns and manages Wave of Life Chiropractic in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
