Your office's policy to support Medical Necessity for covered services begins the moment that a prospective patient calls your office ("how many visits does their plan have?"); to releasing that patient from an Active Care Plan to (uncovered) Maintenance or Wellness care. Yet MOST OFFICES do NOT understand how to document Medical Necessity, or know how to explain to a patient they must now pay out of pocket "EVEN IF they have visits left under their policy."
