Materials for Chiropractic Health Week and Related Observances!

October is a busy month for Chiropractic observances – and here are some high-quality resources to help you maximize those important PR opportunities in your practice and your community.

In Virginia, the first week in October is Chiropractic Health Week!  In 2014, House Joint Resolution No. 93 (Del. Tim Hugo, Patron) established the first week of October as "Chiropractic Health Week” in Virginia, representing “the sense of the General Assembly.” This resolution expresses that chiropractic is a safe, effective, important, and highly relevant component of public health.

On top of that, October is National Chiropractic Health Month throughout the United States and October 16 is World Spine Day, so celebrating Chiropractic Health Week is a great way to kick off the entire month!  To help you maximize these great PR opportunities with ease and finesse, here are materials and information from a number of reputable sources.

From the Unified VCA:

  • Chiropractic Health Week resolution: [click here].
  • Patient education sheet:
    • From the UVCA web site, go to Patients/Public tab, select “Social Media & Celebrate Wellness” from pull-down menu, select “Members”, click on “Handouts” (either pdf format or in Word), then click on “Chiropractic Health Week.”
  • Social media posts:
    • Check out our Facebook page (Virginia Chiropractic Association) and share and like our posts.
    • OR - From the UVCA web site, go to Patients/Public tab, select “Social Media & Celebrate Wellness” from pull-down menu, select “Members”, click on “Social Media”, then scroll down to “Library of Social Media Stills.”
  • Videos:
    • From the UVCA web site, go to Patients/Public tab, select “Social Media & Celebrate Wellness” from pull-down menu, select “Members”, click on “Video Presentations”, click on the 3 lines near the top left of the viewer, then scroll down to video #17.
    • Want to customize the video for your practice?  A Trusted Voice & Video is providing personalization options for as low as $99 to make the clip even more your own. For more information, e-mail

From the American Chiropractic Association:

  • The ACA’s National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM) toolkit is open to the entire chiropractic profession, featuring resources and guidance to promote this year’s theme, #BacktoBasics, which shares back injury prevention and strengthening tips.
  • Visit for a variety of resources, including logos, handouts, tips on local media outreach and promotional ideas, and “before the event” social media posts on your Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. (Some do not require ACA membership.)
  • You’ll also find a sample marketing plan to guide you throughout the month.

From the International Chiropractors Association:

Here are three reference pieces and patient hand-outs that the ICA recommends to chiropractic offices building awareness activities and events around October.

This one-day event, coinciding with National Chiropractic Health Month, is designed to raise awareness about spinal disorders as part of the Bone and Joint Decade’s Action Week. This year’s theme, “Your Back in Action,” highlights the importance of physical activity and improving posture as part of good spinal health and prevention of injury. Visit and check out the community resources toolkit and video you can share via social media.

We hope this helps you to spread Chiropractic’s positive message in October and beyond!
