The Virginia Chiropractic Association Rocks Richmond for Fall Convention

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Afton, VA – The Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association (Unified VCA) met for its annual meeting October 4-6 at the Hilton Hotel and Spa at Short Pump in Richmond, Virginia.

A record-breaking 152 Doctors of Chiropractic gathered in Richmond, along with 54 Chiropractic Assistants, 32 supporting supplier companies, speakers and guests. The program featured top-notch educational presentations, dynamic speakers, organizational business, political and legislative updates, networking opportunities, increased camaraderie and lots of fun.

The DC and staff programs blended practical and inspirational sessions covering the art, science and philosophy of Chiropractic.

  • Timely, compelling sessions for Doctors covered extremity adjusting, subluxation neurology, cervical spine adjusting and vertebral artery issues, active care, laser therapy, science-based patient education, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress’ employee outreach initiative, and much more.
  • Well known instructors included Drs. Gerard Clum, Dan Murphy, Kevin Hearon, Mark Sanna, Kevin Pallis, and Pat McLean.
  • A particular highlight of the weekend was a panel discussion entitled "Strategies for Success.” Drs. Gerry Clum, Jay Greenstein, Scott Banks, Bill Thesier, Joe Foley, and Christopher Perron presented aspects of practice that have flourished during challenging times, including the emergency of patient-centered medical homes and ACOs, rehab and third party billing, personal injury, nutrition, and the increased interest in cash practices. One common theme that emerged from the program was Passion. Identify what you love doing – where your passion is – and focus on that.
  • CAs benefitted from comprehensive training by Dr. Mark Sanna, Dr. Richard LaBarbera, Mr. Josh Walker, Ms. Marah Sparrow, and Dr. Minesh Patel.
